Blaine Automotive Recycling Day Results
The first annual Blaine Automotive Recycling Day was held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the National Sports Center. This was a joint effort by John’s Auto Parts, Veolia Environmental Services, National Sports Center, and Free2B!.
The focus was to encourage car donations for Free2B! as well as give residents a place to dispose of their automotive parts and fluids.
Free2B! reported that they received 4 vehicles that are being evaluated for donation to needy families. For more information about donating or receiving a vehicle, see www.freetobeinc.org.
John’s Auto Parts (www.johnsauto.com) and Veolia Environmental Services (www.veoliatwincities.com) received for recycling and disposal:

438 Tires

44 Batteries plus several motorcycle/ATV batteries

3 Tons of Mixed Scrap Metal (The scrap value was donated to Free2B!)

1 Car that Free2B! was unable to fix (The scrap value was donated to Free2B!)
-
300 Gallons of Oil
-
75 Gallons of Antifreeze
-
55-gallon drum of oil filters
-
¾ Tons of trash
