 FAQ

What is a rebuilt or remanufactured part?

Rebuilt, remanufactured, and reman parts all mean basically the same thing. Used OEM parts are taken apart, cleaned, worn out pieces are replaced, and then the part is put back together so it meets or exceeds the original OEM specs.

Do I save any money using a rebuilt/remanufactured part?

As this process reuses the main components of the part, for example, the engine block, or the shell of a caliper, it is often cheaper to do this process for resale than it is to manufacture an entirely new part thus the cheaper cost. This is why rebuilt auto parts are common because they are OEM parts that are like new for a lot less than the new OEM part would be from the dealer.

How do I know what year my vehicle is or what engine size I have?

The best way to verify the year and engine of a vehicle is by decoding the VIN (vehicle identification number). This 17-digit number can be seen through the windshield on the drivers side, on a tag inside the driver's door, or it might be on your insurance card. By having accurate information it makes it a lot easier to locate the correct part for you; often a part will fit multiple years, but there are many cases where they will only fit one year.

Any of our sales specialists can help you decode your VIN for you.
